Would love to see someone try to automate the bootstrap chain from a working C89 compiler to Rust. I think current LLMs are able to do it at this point.
One of my personal benchmarks is to make llms build the linux kernel with C compilers like chibicc. I got as far as a bootable kernel with no human input once my VM harness was setup.
